Get ready for the mother of all rummage sales! The Oakland Museum of California is hosting its annual “White Elephant Sale” this Saturday and Sunday, from 10am to 4pm.
Summoned as “The Bay Area’s Biggest and Best Rummage Sale,” the benefit takes place in a 96,000 square foot warehouse, complete with 17 departments, with categories ranging from art, books, clothing, dishes, furniture, linen, toys, office supplies, and more. All proceeds from the sale support the Oakland Museum of California’s exhibits and programs.
The event is hosted by the Oakland Museum Women’s Board, which has contributed over $13 million to the museum since their first sale in 1959. The team has grown to approximately 1,200 members, consisting of board members, staff members, friends, and volunteers, all dedicated to producing this massive annual sale.
Not much better than geat deals for a great cause! I’ll be there battling the piles and the crowds, and will be to share my experience with you.
