Spring is here and there are two signs to prove it: Daylight savings and daffodils!
I'm more than happy to say goodbye to winter, and thrilled for my favorite springtime deal: daffodil bunches for $1.29 at Trader Joe's. Yes, they're the same 10-stem bunches found at Whole Foods for 2 for $10. So, why buy 20 stems when you can buy 70 for less? Not that you need 70 daffodils. Or perhaps you do.
Hot tip: Buy the stems that are completely closed. Sure they're not as pretty, but you'll be blessed with a surprise each day as they unfold. Plus, they'll last much longer.
My two annoyances with fresh flowers are the high prices and short shelf lives, but thanks to Trader Joe's, I can enjoy them without the guilt trip, and so can you. To find a location near you, visit www.traderjoes.com/locations.asp
Speaking of Spring, did you remember to set your clocks forward?
