Thanks to a Makeup and Manicures post, I learned that Seventeen magazine and Charlotte Russe have teamed up with a new freebie. Bring the June issue of Seventeen magazine into Charlotte Russe through June 8, while supplies last, and receive a free pair of sunglasses. According to the website, you also have the option to bring a printout of the seventeen.com homepage.
Easy right? Well, it turns out I haven't received the June issue yet (yes I subscribe, don't ask), and the lovely ladies at Charlotte Russe rejected my May issue. Unfortunately, I wasn't prepared enough to bring a printout of the homepage with me, which they very well would have rejected anyway.
UPDATE: I checked my mailbox today, and still no June issue of Seventeen, so I followed the rules and printed the homepage. I returned to the Charlotte Russe store in Concord, CA, where the same two cashiers told me I could not receive the sunglasses without a copy of the June issue. Yes, I brought the May issue by accident yesterday, that was my fault. But, a copy of the homepage won't work? It says loud and clear within the Official Rules to "bring the June 2009 cover of Seventeen or a printout of the seventeen.com homepage." Unfortunately, the manager was on break, so I still have no free sunglasses. If anyone has similar issues, please tweet @seventeenmag and let them know. I'll keep you posted with other places to send your complaints, as I'll be writing up mine today.
