10-piece stainless steel cookware sets for under $100

A wise woman once advised me on furniture purchases within a budget. She said to gradually collect nicer items one at a time, rather than bulking up on prefabricated "crap" from IKEA. She compared it to an investment that you add to little by little, which adds up to a lot in the end.

If I were wise I'd run with her advice on this one: A Cuisinart Chef's Classic 10-piece stainless steel cookware set, originally $375, for only $99 at Macy's.

OK, it's not furniture, but it is worth the investment. The stainless steel set is dishwasher safe and includes 1.5-qt. & 3-qt. covered saucepans, 3.5-qt. covered sauté pan, 8" & 10" skillets and an 8-qt. covered stock pot.

Old Navy is at it again. First they brought us $1 flip flops, then $3 graphic tees, and now $2 tank tops.

On Saturday, June 20, Old Navy is offering $2 rib-knit tanks for women and girls. Customers can choose from a variety of styes including solid, striped, printed and embellished, with a limit of five per customer.

I'm a big fan of world music, and one of the best labels out there is Six Degrees Records. Years ago, I discovered their Traveler series featuring music from all over the world. I would dig through CD displays looking for new releases, which were tough to find.

Fortunately, these days Six Degrees has a website where I can purchase and download the music I'm looking for. Even better, they're currently offering one free album download for completing a brief survey.

Free Charmin toilet paper Extender

When I first moved into my apartment, after moving, unpacking, sorting, and organizing, I realized there was a flaw in the bathroom, the toilet paper wouldn't fit! Sure it's an old apartment, but have toilet paper rolls expanded that much? Apparently they have, so I had to start seeking out smaller rolls of TP. That is, until I came across this free sample.

When you sign up online at Charmin, they'll send you a free Charmin extender. It's basically a plastic tube that extends your toilet paper holder to fit larger rolls. When I first saw it, I laughed, but then realized, "Hey, I actually need this."

So I signed up, and I must say, it's the fastest sample I've ever received. I immediately unwrapped and installed it, and what a difference it made! All with a silly, free, piece of plastic. It's the best sample I never knew I needed. Thanks, Charmin.
